From my knowledge in high school, nuclear reactor is not a toy to be play with... This reactor contain a radioactive base substance which usually are uranium rods... This radioactive rods play a role in a nuclear fission action, where a proton will be bombarded into the uranium and cause the uranium to be split into two lighter radioactive isotopes.. This reaction produce a large amount of heat energy which is use to turn turbine for electricity generation...
In case of the accident in Japan, some says that the reactor doesn't explode... The water tanks does... They says that it is due to high amount of heat energy release which is ultimately not under control... The most suspicious speech is that, one of Malaysia nuclear senior engineer state that the over heat was due to the water which does not absorb heat.. Let us all imagine, how can't water absorb heat? It is their natural to absorb heat but how come, out of sudden water does not absorb heat? Is this relevant? :) I love Physics
